The standard maximum gross weight of a vehicle, trailer and load is 44 tonnes in the UK, but if you have a heavier load to transport, we can assist you with our heavy haulage STGO service.

Yes, we regularly handle abnormal and wide load haulage using our fleet of lowloaders, including specialist Wafer Deck Trailers built for oversized or unusually shaped cargo. Abnormal loads require specific route planning and, in many cases, movement orders and police escorts, all of which we can arrange on your behalf for an additional fee. If you're unsure whether your load qualifies as abnormal, just give us the dimensions and weight and we'll advise you from there.
The standard legal limit for a vehicle, trailer and load combined in the UK is 44 tonnes. For loads that exceed this, we offer a heavy haulage STGO (Special Types General Order) service, which allows us to legally move heavier loads with the appropriate authorisation in place.
